@ Acadia .... You are almost correct ... Violet lied about her room key because she did NOT want to have her room searched .............................. at least, not yet. ...
Betcha can't guess why ... (ha ha).
For the record, Doris usually tags along with Violet (which really pisses her off) but as Violent says,
