Suggestion Box F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 17 10:06 am)
This forum is designed for suggestions from the community on how you feel we can improve Renderosity.
I sure hope this is NOT going to happen here..
Sorry for you Mooch but i was on a forum that allowed file uploads ...
My virus killer got crazy every time i logged in on that forum...
Not everybody knows about computers and all the nasty's they bring...
For me it will be a NO GO
And if someone is realy interested into helping you out with a problem..
A free hosting site and a IM does the trick perfectly...
Greetings
Chris

Thanks for the suggestion Mooch, but I have to agree with Chris in that allowing file uploads in the forums would just be asking for trouble. Currently all files uploaded or advertised {like the Freestuff Items} to Rendo are able to be checked before releasing them to the general populace, so we don't want to lose control in that respect.
We think it is better and safer for our members to not allow direct file uploads to the forums.

I completely understand your position, and Chris made some very good points of alternate methods of dealing with the situation in his post.
Thanks for the explanation.
Mooch.

I think it would be a fantastic improvement to allow users of their respective forums, to allow them to upload files supported by their respective software. A .jpg I find is very limiting in that regard.
For instance: a user that was having an issue, could upload the file, and state the problem.
The respondent, could fix the file and attach notes as to the steps he went thru to do what he did. Or he could make what thought were improvements - i.e. how to improve on the idea the OP was trying to get across.
