Subject: Spawning a morph, or extracting it

Ciao,

another complex question for you Poser bosses  (I mean, complex for ME, maybe actually it's really simple, I'd hope so!)

I have a character created with V4.0. The body is almost standard, but the face has been created with these steps:

  1. Transferring the face shape from a V3 through a Python script;
  2. Spinning a lot of dials here and there;
  3. Caressing her a lot with the Morph tool.

I mean, it's a highly customized character. I would not been able to re-create her from scratch.

I have noticed that when I apply some V4 poses to her, sometimes funny things happen (limbs disjointed, awful deformations, and so on). Maybe the Python script or the Morphing tool have done something wrong. I'd like to "move her face" on a clean V4.2 body, so I can re-start from scratch, and take advantage of the new morphs++.

Question is:  given that there is not a simple morph dial for her look, is it possible to "move her face" on a new base body?

Thanks in advance,

Giorgio

If it's purely for your own use, export the head to Wavefront OBJ format, checking only the "as morph target" option. Then use that export to add a morph target to a "fresh" V4. Of course, you wouldn't be able to distribute the morph in that form.

Yes, Bob, it's only for my own use, obviously!  Thanks!

You're welcome! It would still be possible to make a distributable version - but a lot more complicated, which is why I didn't mention it. ;)

wait..... you mean you can export a Victoria 4.2 head as a morph target then apply it to a Victoria 4.0? Or a V3 to a V4??????

AM I HEARING THIS RIGHT?

Passion is anger and love combined. So if it looks angry, give it some love!

Yes and no. ;) V4.2 to V4, yes; V3 to V4, no. Giorgio's V3 head is already transferred to a V4 mesh.

Correct. I had done the transfer through the Spanki & Cage TDMT script  (http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2677445&page=1)
