Frankly if you are considering Cinema 4D than I would advise looking at Interposer Pro  rather than Poser Pro.

Interposer Pro converts the Poser rig to one you can animate directly in C4D. that means that you can do all of your figure animation directly in C4D, which has more powerful animation tools rather than relying on Poser for that.

the poser pro conversion requires you to use the Poser animation tools to do the animation and only than can you transfer the figure pre animated to C4D to render. any time you want to make adjustments to the poses in your animation you have to go back to poser pro to do it.

Im not saying that Poser Pro isn't worth looking at, just that there are better solutions if you are looking at C4D in particular.
