- I get to stick people with really, really big needles :woot:
Remind me not to get on your bad side.''
LOL
I remember back when I was a student nurse I was looking after a room with 2 men in it. Their resemblance to each other was uncanny. They were both connected to IVs and a pump that was administering a blood thinning medication.
They were constantly razzing me and playing practical jokes on me, :sneaky:
When it came time to refill the pump for one of them, I mixed up the syringe, which was large, and left the large needle on the end.
I walked into the room and and with a poker face said "Ok! Bend over!" His eyes got really big and his jaw dropped, as did those of his visitors. Then I burst out laughing.
Not really a good idea to play a practical joke on someone admitted for chest pain, but I had a bottle of nitro pills in my pocket, so I wasn't worried!
I always tell my patients that no matter how bad off we think we are, there are people who are far worse than we are, and that life is too short to be glum and gloomy and we have to make the most out of everyday that we have been given.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
