Try saving it as jpg then and apply it to the bump channel with displacement checked. Make sure mapping is object parametric.

I just tried exporting a displacement map in Zbrush and it doesn't do anything. I click 'make displacement map' and nothing happens. What's up with that. Where do they go?  It certainly wasn't with the exported object.

Sometimes all these tools give one a headache...lol....
