I haven't had a problem with this "virus", which by the way isn't a virus. It's a way to exploit a window's vulnerability.
I've been doing some searching on the net and found this link which tells you a simple way to get rid of it. The files sit in a cache folder, they don't invade your computer and affect other files.

So while I understand the concern, it's nothing to get your undies in a bunch over. And please note, this is not directed to anyone in particular, it's just a general comment on this issue.
