I had a meeting today with the hospital again.
That position is 100% mine Because I'm in a back-to-work program and not actually working the rotation for that position currently, they are reposting it as a term position until the middle or end of December, when I'll take it over
Next week I do three full shifts doing the MS Research Project. And I do two 4 hour shifts at my actual place of work! I'll be doing the 4 hour shifts in the morning starting at 7:30am to 11:30am.
The following week is when it starts to get a bit confusing!! The Monday I do 4 hours at my job then go and do 3.75 hours at the Research job. That week I also work 2 full days at the Research job and two 4 hour shifts at my nursing job. The next week is the same.
It gets even worse after that with my having to divide my time between 2 separate hospitals several days each week in order to get a full day of work in.
By November 10th I'll be up to 6 hours at my job and only 1 full day per week at the research job.
I asked about the ability to increase my 4 hours to 6 hours in the event that I find 4 hours okay. They said that would not be a problem. I'm really hoping that I can get back on the payroll by the end of November at the latest. I'm so tired of being broke, plus this schedule and having to juggle 2 separate hospitals into an 8 hour day by 4pm (the time I have to have the computer back in the Neurology office before they leave for the day) is just too stupid for words, but I need to get those hours in.
I found out that the extra hours at the research job didn't pan out. I made a point to tell them that I was pursuing the extra hours on my own and that it was separate and apart from the hours I'm doing with the insurance company, and not part of that program at all and didn't involve the insurance company at all because it would be on my own time on the weekends and evenings. They were agreeable with that.
Of course they talked to the insurance company who vetoed it saying that it might interfere with my ability to complete the back-to-work program.
The insurance company doesn't seem to care that I sit at home on the computer or watching TV or reading for as long as I sit at the Research place and have been able to do full days there followed by being at home on the computer, not to mention being at home on the computer on weekends, without any problem whatsoever. Personally I don't think what I do on my own time is any of their freaking business
