As you indicated, it would be a lot of work to create a proxy scene.  
From what I have seen posted on this forum, Vue Stream does not really work very well, otherwise, I would upgrade to VStream from Infinite.

It appears that Vue will not accomplish what I need, therefore, are you aware of any other software that could be used to create and or build environmental scenes (3D) that could be imported into either Poser or Cinema 4d ?
