Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
That is what I was using but still couldn't get the lines for the bump map to work - was trying to do a bump or displacement map which would add the seems in certain locations, but that didn't seem to work - the lines never appeared correctly on the arms of the figures.
I am kinda thinking that maybe a new model might be required where I break off the pieces of the body and then rig them back together...
Thanks for the suggestion.
Cheers

Well I looked at it - bought it - and it is pretty good though I am a little disappointed with some of the morphing. But over all, nice work and certainly made me realise that some other things I can do.
Thanks for pointing that out - now I just need to figure out how to do more realistic plastic/plaster type look of the body.
Overall, good buy if you want shop mannequin type stuff.
Certainly will now make the shop fronts look more realistic for the stuff I'm doing.
(btw - I am doing some mock up shop fronts for a friend of mine who has given me a photo of the shop front, which I can then add the mannequins to... and she can then give them to her boss as possible options for a competation. Kinda fun... Trying to make them look at little more realistic for the pictures so it is easier for the boss to "visualise")
Thanks again. If anyone has any idea for plastic etc - that would be great also :)
Been working on it - the big problem is with Mannequin Plastic is that in fact it has very little reflectiveness and does something strange to the light when it hits... Been looking over the real ones and getting something close is proving to be a little on the insane side.
The purchased Mannequin morphs only uses a base colour - but that doesn't really make it look very real against IBL and image.
Still working on it - and will admit after this - I never want to see a mannequin again :D
Remember to kill the specular in the eyes to convey the lifeless look.
It's easier to take a sample in photoshop or such and create a mannequin texture by simply using the fill tool and making it square. Apply it and specular, too at 25% or so. Instant plaster painted texture. Plaster doesn't look like skin for one simple reason--it's not translucent, like flesh. It's a solid color.
When you get it they way you want, save it to your materials list and name it as you will, and re-use at will!

Hi,
I'm trying to find either models, or textures that can make store mannequins. Okay, you would think that while most are trying to make realistic type figures, I'm trying to make realistic looking mannequins and having no luck whatsoever!
I have tried to make my own textures, but not been able to get them working correctly, seem to never be able to get the seemlines matching up correctly.
I know there is the Ball Joint Doll (this isn't what I am looking for however). Basically what I'm trying to do is a store front with mannequins which look at least like mannequins and not just Poser models which have a plastic like texture (ie - seems, and body parts missing etc)
Hopefully someone has either seen a model/texture/or even tutorial around on how to do it succesfully.
Thanks
