Subject: working with glass

Hi,
A friend of mine ask me a question and I could not give her the answer...I was wondering if anyone here could help her...As I am not that advanced enough to help...

Here is her question
I have some problems to simulate glass material in Daz. In the surface window I manipulated refraction, reflection, opacity and specular to try out. But I do not really find a procedure to realize it. Do you know some work around to work with glass in Daz?

Check the DAZ Studio Discussions forum at DAZ  -there was a long thread on glass, and there have been some more recent discussions. One thing that emerged is that it depends on the lighting - it was hard, going on impossible, to get settings that looked good in all situations. With rflection and refraction it's important to have something to rflect and refract in the scene - a glass object sitting on a plain surface in an otherwise empty scene won't do much.

Thanks so much

the most important thing to remember with glass is turn "Multiply Specular by Opacity" to off - you'll find it in the 'Specular" section of the advanced surfaces tab.

Thank you I will let her know
