Anyone tried aniMate from Daz?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has tried creating BVH files from "aniMate" from Daz and importing them into Poser?

I have and works fine (depending on the BVH ). I have only had 2 bad bvh imports and think it was due to the figure's (Miki2) "bone" structure. It was a little jerky around hips and chest area. Some minor adjustments fixed the jerkiness with Miki2, tried same with V3 and V4 no major issues. This motions where from True Bones.

Hi Lululee,I have successfully exported a BVH of V4.2 I put together in AniMate into Poser 6 and applied it her to.The only problem is she dives under the floor.Two things to do!

LOCK THE FIGURES HANDS BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT BEFORE APPLYING THE POSE.

2. WHEN THE ANIMATED POSE HAS BEEN APPLIED RUN THE UTILITIES SCRIPT "DROP FIG TO FLOOR ALLFRAMES" AND MAKE SURE YOU GIVE IT TIME TO APPLY THE FULL SCRIPT.
IT MIGHT TAKE A WHILE (OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE A WIERD RESULT)

You will be pleased to know I have applied Dixie hair to my figure.I will post when I have my animation finished. Cheers

Hello Everyone. I got very excited when I started reading this. So you mean that if you have DAZ Studio installed, and you own animate, setup an animation using the aniblocks and export the bvh to poser it will work? If that's the case WOW!

No dynamic hair.
No dynamic cloth.
No access to the assorted python scripts Poser can use.
No desire to pay out about what a version upgrade in Poser costs to get .667775% of the features actually upgrading a Poser version would get you.
And so on and so on.....

I remember Dance Studio from Metacreations I have a copy even bought an old computer to run in on hoping to pull off the BVH files. Hasn't worked so far I can't seem to find Win 95

I'm trying the trial version and the hands are driving me nuts.
It's as if all his fingers have been broken.

Hmmm yes and no dance forms seems to be more classical styles. Metacreations Dance Studios was almost game like with cartoon characters.

But back to animate...so are we giving it a thumbs up for the poser Pipeline? And while we are on the subject SmithMicro Scares me...the Poser page looks like they don't understand the Poser market, if you can find the Poser page. Did they just shove this app in with all the others on a templated page?

Thank you all so much for so much useful information! I'm using Daz2.3, and have made some amazing animations.. So sharp, and smooth.. The only question I would have is how would one add a "duel layer" to a run.. Like a wink and kiss, while turning away.. Forgive me for such a basic question, for I'm a lowly newbee.... eyes gazing downward Thank you all for the cool links as well!

I'm looking to buy animation sotware and my friend showed me his daz / poser / animate setup. He explained all the things I could do for under $300. I know it's extra if you want clothes/props and more characters but still, what he showed me was really cool.
Is that my best / cheapest route to get into character animation. and what would be the next level?

My friend reckons this video was made totally with daz poser and animate.

Yes I remember dance studio, and I have life forms, which even on the new system still sucks for editing BVH files. The best one I found for editing (not creating) is qavimator.
