No, yvonne, someone told you wrong. Most of the additional facilities in Poser Pro are supported on 32 bit operating systems like mine (Mac OS X Tiger). For example:-

• Material-specific and final scene gamma correction.
• Background rendering (meaning you can render a scene in the background while continuing to work on it).
• Queue Manager, which (among other things) aIlows me to start off a big render, then close that scene and work on another scene in Poser; or send several renders to run one after the other overnight.

Having a 64-bit system would allow you to use the 64-bit Firefly rendering engine in Poser Pro. With a 32-bit system, it just uses the 32-bit engine.

I upgraded from Poser 7 to Poser Pro. I chose the cheaper Base version because I have no need (yet??) for the advanced interface options the full version provides... Collada, etc.
