When I'm looking for a texture or an image, the first place I go to is Flickr. Millions of images, many of them good. And most creative commons, so free for use. Generally, if a photographer doesn't want you to use the image, they'll add a note to that effect. Go to flickr's home page and you'll find a search box. Just enter what you want and then wade through 1000s of images. It's never failed me yet.
