This may or may not help, I get calls like this on a daily basis (I work in tech support. We recommend that our employees use a second hard drive to store their critical data, in the event that we need to format and reload the OS we still have all of their files on a secure location. The prices on good hard drives have become increasingly affordable. If you are looking to archive the files for a short period of time (until Poser 5 comes out) this might be a viable option for you. If, however, you plan on keeping the files around for many years, then the kind folks on this forum that have been pointing you towards the CD-R/RW have the correct sense of things.
