Well, after an hour or so of experimenting with Ockham's suggestion (thank you so much!) I  have this.I'm using an old wall prop that was buried in my Poser 4 directory. The cement base texture is a photograph that I took.

Synthetic, I looked at your shader offering in the Market place and have added it to my wishlist. I can't get it right now because I've promised myself to hold off on using my credit cards for a few months.
