I know that in merchant partnerships (where they get percentages of the sales) it's common to have others do the promo work but I am not aware that it is common otherwise.
Anyway, as Acadia said, there's nothing wrong with your promos. You may want to add a few things to spruce up the images like adding some decorative corners. You could also have some shots with a plainer background (yet still atractive) so the figures or your product stand out more. It's just a matter of sprucing things up.
If it takes you two days to make the promos then perhaps you need to plan your promos out a bit first so it makes things faster. Using a custom-made template, for example. If you have a custom look to your promos, it's like your identity. People would be able to recognise your products just by looking at the first thumbnail you see on the marketplace page.
If another person makes your promos then THEY can determine whether your product sells or not. They are the ones in control in regards to advertising.and not you. Also, if you change promo artists then you will change the style of the promos which could be either a good or bad thing.
I know how you feel about not wanting to do the promos because I feel the same way. Actually, I don't like putting the zip file together and uploading it either but I would rather make sure that everything is in the way I want it and that it is consistent.
If you still want others to make your promos then that's really up to you. Anyway, considering you have good products in your store, you shouldn't have many problems finding someone. Just remember what I said, though.
Good Luck!
Cheers,
Paul
