There's another thing about Poser which needs to end. How ridiculous is THAT? I can't think of any other program which loads optional content at the same time you open it. Give me a blank scene any day. For one thing it takes longer to load, for another thing, nobody gives a shit about Simon.

But anyway, yeah, I had that same exact problem when I first installed PPro. Wouldn't allow me to delete and kept crashing the second I hit OK. Eventually after trying several times I rebooted my PC and tried it again and this time it worked. of course I immediately set my preferences to open a blank scene and saved that in general preferences and closed Poser.

I never had the problem again, and really have no idea what caused it.
For a program as finicky as Poser can be at times, it's just plain idiotic for them to make the default opening scene one with a figure loaded into it. just stupid with a capital S. Annoying, too.
I'm hoping Smith Micro has enough sense to look at these myriads of totally avoidable Poser problems and take care of it all in future versions or updates.

That is, Unless they sell it before they get the chance...
