If the character in poser uses an obz file(compressed) rather than an obj file for the geometry, it will not import to vue.
Not likely to be your problem since the head is visible, but worth checking (there is a python script in poser to uncompress). A work around if all else fails - export the character from poser as an '.obj'    and import to vue.
