So I used Poser to visualize many types of tile. I took a photo of part of my kitchen and loaded it on a one-sided square. I made a transparency map to remove the actual wall. Behind the square, I put two more squares to represent the walls as seen through the photo. I then built 40 different shaders of various types of tile and rendered them with accurate lighting and shadows to see how it would look in my actual kitchen. We found this incredibly helpful.
