Quote - Hey don't get all down because some people don't "get" Christmas. There are some of us who buy goodies, but still set a place for Jesus at Christmas Eve dinner, go to midnight mass, and enjoy a family-only day with no cell phones allowed.
I'm not particularly religious and I'm not sure whether I believe or not. But one of the best Christmas' that I spent was with my BFF and her 2 kids.
Her and I decided that we were going to make gifts for each other instead of buying them, and when they came over for Christmas dinner I had a birthday cake for dessert. The kids didn't understand why we had "birthday" cake until I explained to them that it was "Baby Jesus' " birthday that was being celebrated, so what would be more appropriate for dessert than a birthday cake for him. They were thrilled and talked about it for months afterwards. Now it's become a tradition in their family to have a birthday cake with "Happy Birthday Jesus" on it.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
