I think it's down to the artist to choose where he/she should put the render, as Artur says, these days, there is rarely only one app involved in a render.
I choose to put a render in the gallery of the app that rendered it, not where the models were made, or the figures posed, becasue there isn't only the rendering involved, but also the materials are inherent to the rendering app, and the lighting, so there is alot more of the rendering program in the final output than the first tools you use.
