I do wish they would go back to the separate categories.  If an image is 90% 3D with a bit of postwork, it doesn't belong in the 2D category - something I've seen more and more in the last couple of contests with only the two categories and 2D having less entries than 3D.   And I don't believe it's fair to judge 2D, photoshop painting and Photography together.  I understand the separation may be necessary to be able to offer better prizes but the categories should be separate.
