Norton does this. I think a few other companies as well. Maybe Corel? I think it's a new "fad." Heck,...the first time I encountered, I had updated my Norton Internet Security online. They automatically installed it. Didn't allow you to save it and download it. If you didn't pay the extra ten dollars, you couldn't download it again even if your computer crashed. I saw some people complain. They said if you needed a disk then you should have bought one. I always bought the disk after that.
