This was particularly sad news for me because I remember I did a photographic assignment at Wedgewood in the Potteries, UK a few years ago.  It was obvious that the love and care that the workers put into their craft was behind it's success.  Sadly the world today is turning away from the finer things in life, and we are all the poorer for it.  Incidentally, another fine Irish pottery maker Beleek is in trouble as well.
