Back when I was in nursing school I ran into one of my high school teachers. He was visiting someone. I looked at him and said "MR. COULTER!?" and he said "Well, if it isn't "  Then he said to call him by his first name, Dave.  I looked at him like he had 3 eyes and said "Oh no! I couldn't do that! You'll always be Mr. Coulter to me!!"  LMAO 

I was so freaked out about the mere thought of calling him by his first name!  Yet when I was in grade 12 we were "drinking buddies" and used to go and spend most lunch hours in the local bar a few blocks from the school.  And he would loan me his car during my spare classes if I needed to go and run errands.
