Subject: A Difference Between Ver 5 Pro and Ver 7 pro??

kathym ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2009 at 7:07 PM · edited Fri, 29 November 2024 at 3:07 PM

I have version 5 Pro .. and I have been thinking about uping it to 7Pro ... but what I really want to know is there that much of a difference between the two that it is actually worth upgrading.

Thanks!

Just enjoying the Vue. :0)

C7 handles purchased content very smoothly, far better than C6 even. The tools for morphing polymeshes are easy to use. Posing, etc. is a total breeze. These are the things I do all the time, so for me it is a definite YES.
For other uses of the program, I am not experienced enough with C5 to say if there is a difference.

It tends to render faster I have noticed.  And it is a LOT more stable.

Naybe thinking about the button to calculate physics, the new sun visible, the Poser content in Browser, better rig tools, uv unwrap, model in assembler room, 3d paint, multi pass render, clip animation... need more??

Wow. Has the user interface changed much .. besides poser content in the browser?

Looks good. I came across the 7 Beta download on DAZ's site but the serial # for the demo is no good (says the version has expired) .. so no test driving for me. LOL

Thanks for all the info - I'm definately swayed towards snatching me a upgrade copy!

6 and 7 have hair/fur as well

The dynamic hair is a big plus. But there is also an ocean primitive which is very nice, and render time displacement on terrains. There are some more modeling tools from Hexagon, including the bridge tool, displacement painting, and 3D paint, UV unfolding. One of the best new additions in Pro is the multi pass rendering.
