Sorry to not agree but shaders are a lot of work. If time is the issue then go for the hi res textures..

Elite @Daz,, Morris, Ceridwen here. I'm sure there are more. The V4 skin shader by face_off is an easy to use skinshader ready to go. No reading required... Also at Daz.

It is also the skin standard for poser. It's all I use.

Attached: full preview of super heavy "Lana".. not even a render yet.. These skins are not perfect. Most have specular baked on, shadows still there,,, even "sss" where it should not be. Later, with time you can paint your own pics right onto V4 as some do here. Easy to do with new softwares like 3D coat...
