I dunno if its just my Vue (or my own silly self), but I cant manage to get things to load in Center at all... even when i check the box.  (ok, its happened just often enough I know it isn't completely broken).

Usually, things load wherever my camera is....

Maybe try what I do (and screw up on constantly LOL)... make the camera your active item, and THEN load an object in and see if it does it for you, too.  but then... it could just do that with the imported stuff...

can't hurt to try, right?
