When you install new content into D|S and are viewing "categories as list", the content will show up in an "unassigned" folder. This is due to the content management system in D|S. Until you physically click and drag the content within the "unassigned" folder, and place it where you want (example: Michael's clothing within my content tab in D|S was placed within the People folder, then dragged to the Men folder, then placed within the Michael4-Hiro-4 folder that I created, then dragged into a Clothing folder that I created, and finally dropped into the appropriate category that I also created. See attached image.)
You can create or delete any folder (category, as it's referred to in D|S) by right-clicking and holding your mouse (control-click if you're using a Mac mouse). If you right-click and hold within a column, a little window appears with two options — Create Category Here and Hide Empty Categories. Obviously, the "Create Category Here" will allow you to create a new folder/category to put stuff in. If you right-click and hold on an existing folder/category, the window gives you an additional option, which is "Rename Category". This gives you a great deal of freedom when it comes to customizing your content tab. Just remember, the files you're moving around within "View Categories As List" aren't physically being moved within your content folder, just the references to those files are being moved around — sort of like moving around aliases (shortcuts on PC). You can move an alias around anywhere on your Mac, but the program/folder you created the alias for doesn't move.
As for the issue of the Michael clothing you installed, but can't find — when you install new content, you have to tell D|S to search for it. Tutorial #4 shows how that's done. It also shows me moving content from the "Unassigned" folder to the destinations I chose for those particular content items. Tutorial #5 shows how I have my content directory organized. Folders you don't see on your content tab but see on mine were folders/categories that I created. That's the beauty of the content manager in D|S; you can organize content in a way that makes sense to you.
Does this make sense to you or is there something you're still vague on? I'd be happy to walk you through it.
