Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
I'll try to find a way to post it. This is a much bigger model in file size than I normally create. Because it's all Beveled geometry in order to render nice in Poser. The figure is currently 7meg. w/no textures. And I'm planning on adding a few more things. I can compress it down to about a 2meg. ZIP file. But I have a 1meg. file size limit on my web site. I'll try to post it at some point. It's not much fun If I can't give this stuff away. ScottA
If I were capable of experiencing shame, I wouldn't admit that I liked the US version of Godzilla. I wept openly when he died on the suspension bridge. The helicopter sequences were great, the taxi bit was one of the most entertaining car chases I've ever seen, and the baby 'Zillas in Madison Square Garden are everything that I've wished the Jurassic Park films could be.
Perhaps one of you can resolve this continuity conundrum for me. Godzilla (1954) is killed by the oxygen device and his skeletal remains are used in the construction of the new MechaGodzilla, yes? So how is the Big G still managing to smash Cardboard Tokyo? Evil twin clone? Second cousin twice removed on his mother's side? Plot hole large enough to drive a Super X through? Enquiring mind wants to know.
I think Godzilla has massive healing capabilities and when he was killed, a chunk of his leg remained and that eventually grew back into Godzilla. (If this wasn't Godzilla, it was one of the other Japanese monsters. I know I didn't dream that one up myself. I don't dream in cheesy black and white sequences like that.)
That's how the "War of the Gargantuas" movie explained the existence of a second Gargantua Cresent. Is that the movie you were thinking of? Each Gfilm is a new timeline since G2000. That means the other movies aren't tied in and never happened. *************************************************************** In this newest one. G54 is killed by the Oxygen destroyer. Leaving behind only a skeleton. Not long after. Due to the degenerated eco-system. The cells re-combine and form an entirely new Godzilla seperate from the old skeleton. And G attacks Japan again. Scientists invent the Maser Laser Cannon (I have one In my art Gallery) and drive him away. 50 years later. He comes back. But this time the cannons have no effect on him. So the scientists create a cyborg (mechagodzilla) out of his DNA from the old skeleleton. *************************************************************** I haven't seen the movie yet. But apparently when mechagodzilla first hears godzilla's roar for the first time. It freaks out and reverts back to it's natural instincts. And starts smashing up the city. That sounded pretty cool. 8-) ScottA
All I remember was a murky black and white footage of a lizard leg sinking to the bottom of the ocean. If the expert says that it's "War of the Gargantuans" then who am I to argue? ;-) All I know is that everytime I see this thread, I can't help but hear the song: "Oh, No! There goes Tokyo. Go, Go, Godzilla!"
Yes, I realize this thread is more than six years dead, but I believe it makes more sense than starting a new one along the same topic.
A member of the DAZ forums is currently searching for for a Mecha-Godzilla model. I remembered this thread and decided to find and link it.
Scott Ayers, I know that you have more or less "retired" from the Poser scene and have migrated to other, somewhat more robust suites. However just on the off-chance you may still occasionally check the R'osity forums, do you still have the data for the Mecha-Godzilla model showcased above? I understand why you were opriginally reluctant to release it, being more than 3 times over your "personal limit". A laudable goal and considerate for fans with lower end PCs. But desktop hardware has improved a little in the last six years and what was considered high end then are now the "low end" machines today.
If you have not lost the data to a disk crash or another scenario, can we convince you to possibly release the .CR2? EnglishBob has publicly stated he'll host the mesh as he has your others. Even if that fell through, now we have repositories like ShareCG.
When I return home, I'll try contacting you with the last known e-mail with which we used to communicate, basically repeating what I've posted here.
Rest assured, your contributions have not been forgotten by the Poser community.
Sincerely,
Bill
