I didn't change the UVs and it rendered correctly. All I changed was to remove the normals.
Created a cylinder in UVM (the mapping is the same as the one from Maya) exported with no normals, loaded into Poser, and the anomoly shows up.
Of course there may be several different anomolies that look similar but with different causes.
Can you share this cylinder OBJ?
So far I only have one datapoint for this artifact.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
