This problem is solved by putting a fake face line at he end of the file :-

f 1 2 3 4 

I assume that would be something I would put in the obj file and not something those who would be susceptible have to add themselves for compatibility issues?

I also have no way to test to see if I've done it right as far as compatibility goes in that regard.  So, I'll have to rely on feedback when someone downloads it.
