Subject: OT, very OT - Joanquin Phoenix

I don't know if any other of you caught  David Letterman's show the other night but what was the deal with Joaquin Phoenix? He was very bazaar, detached and slightly agitated. It was a very strange interview. Did anyone see the show? I hope the guy is okay.

Gets the ratings up...;)

It was just bazaar Joaquin Phoenix looked unkempt scraggly long hair, uncombed, long scraggly beard, very dark glasses and one word answers. When asked a question by Letterman it seemed it too him a long time to process the question it was like Letterman wasn't even there. He did have on a nice suit though. I have seen many interviews with Phoenix in the past he was sharp and witty last night it he appeared to be like some one who has had a break down of some sorts. Oh well that's Hollywood!

Wow, he sure does look and sound like he's on something. Too bad given what happened to his brother.

There is this thing that actors do called "acting". Sometimes they do this "acting" in venues like "TV shows". This is considered to be "entertainment".

skuts  I agree and will go one further  -

he is "developing"  some weird  new  persona  to go along with his newly announced  move into the hip hop music biz.

so now he is a cool  aloof   hip hop guy.

get it?

all a bunch of phony  bulls**t

Is he REALLY going into the Hip Hop biz ?  That is so out of left field.

Acadia ( ) posted Sun, 15 February 2009 at 1:43 AM

I don't buy that it was an act.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but "hip hop" music is bouncy and energetic. He looked and sounded anything but! He was on something.... a whole lot of something.

Andy Kaufmann was the master of this type of off-kilter "humor".

I might buy the he's just acting take on the Letterman appearance, but there's another clip floating around on the various video sites that shows his "hip-hop" performance after his Letterman appearance. Doesn't seem like a performance designed to launch a hip-hop career, but what do I know...

Yes and look at what that got Andy Kaufman.

The first vid of his appearance on Letterman was removed.

But in this one it appears to be some goofy character.  It's probably something to do with promoting a movie.

Casey Affleck has been following Joanquin Phoenix filming him.  Casey was filming during the Letterman show.  At the end of the segment Joanquin stands up and turns his back to audience takes off his glasses and shakes Letterman's hand and says "good job".

Casey and Joanquin are reportly filming a mocumentary.

Sorry but people whom are seeing this as Joanquin having a melt down are being taken for a ride.  It's all a put on.
