If you are talking about the object menu, I notice the little arrow at the bottom of the list is pointing up indicating the object is below the plane level. 

1. what happens when you click it?  (it should move the sphere up to ground level)
2. what happens when you click the "wire frame underground on/off" button?

Beyond that I've got nothing.
