I usually name my readmes the same as the item, so it would be Flyswatter_README.txt for the one that comes with the flyswatter for instance.
But they do not end up in a specific folder. My stuff will default to a TrekkieGrrrl.... folder (with a few exceptions back when I didn't know better) but I know well that a lot of people have their own way of organizing their runtimes and probably won't keep it there. I move stuff around myself to a more "logical" (to me) folder.
And so it's difficult to dig up the original creator, and if it's a 8 year old prop, I'm certainly not going to search for the backup cd with the zip just to see who made it. Not ill will; it's just not feasible.
A few merchants/freebie creators put a stamp/logo on their thumbnails. That makes it easier to remember who made what.
