Good question.   Here's a suggestion that may help.

Try using the Orthographic cameras, e.g., Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom.

First use the Front Camera: - Change xTran to move the object right (+) or left (-)

• Change yTran to move the object up (+) or down (-)

Next, use the Top Camera:

• Change zTran to move the object to the front (+) or to the  back (-)  

Now use the Main Camera and rotate around the object to make sure the position is correct.

It may have something that might help you.
