It's most easy to rip your above arguments to threads, one by one. For instance, let's take number 1:

It's clearly because Modo and Infinite/xStream are two completely different programs with different features. Modo is mostly a modeler with rendering only lately added. It is not focussed on landscapes. Your comment makes as much sense as "Why do I need Microsoft Word when I already have Photoshop?"

Without having e-on's balance sheet (private company, private balance sheet) in front of me, I cannot assert one way or another. How do you know they are not actually doing better than ever? The fact is, you don't-- you're just making a very stupid and ill-informed comment. I'm sure there are plenty of informed folks at e-on who have carefully thought through these issues and are doing their best to add value to their product line and their company.
