I think Poser is the way to go, for what you want to do.

I don't really want to pour cold water on your enthusiasm. But you might as well be asking us how to draw, for all we can tell you!

Nearly all of us learnt everything we know through lots of try-it-and-see, reading up, following tutorials, more try-it-and-see.... you get the picture? We are all still learning, to some extent. No-one is going to be able to tell you how to "do" Poser renders, it's just too vast a subject. And if someone does try to tell you all you need to know, most of it will be meaningless to you at the moment. Sorry, but there really are no shortcuts.

Dr Geep is a member here who does good, fun tutorials. He runs the Poser University. He is doing a Poser thread right now introducing beginners to the various Poser "Rooms". That might be a good starting point for you. The link to the thread is up above.
