With FREE Poser content the developer hardly ever bothers to make sure the files unzip into their proper runtime folders. This is extreme laziness!!! But it's free so what can you say.

Therefore I have 2 runtime directories setup in D|S preferences. One is my working runtime and the other is my TEST runtime. Within D|S you can set up multiple "runtime" folders via Preferences - Directories - Poser Content Directories - (Add or Search).

Anyhoot all my new zip format content I install into my TEST runtime. My test runtime gets CLEARED after every test - this is important. In this way I can see where the specific new files are getting unzipped to (using Windows Explorer) and how to move them to their correct location in my working runtime folder.

Another BIG issuse is that most FREE content (and some bought content)  have badly written file path names in their coding. I have to edit the coding to write proper file paths for them to work properly in D|S (and also in POSER).

IMPORTANT: Always make a back up copy of any  file you plan to open to edit.

You can use Windows Notepad or Word to open and edit files but they are not good for such a sensitive and tedious coding work. There are other better FREE text editors on the internet.

I would say approx 70% of FREE Poser content and approx 2% of purchased Poser content I have to fix up to get them to work properly in D|S (and POSER).
