Yeah quality has go way down lately.
I used to spend silly amounts of money on 3D produucts every months here on Daz and wherever else I found stuff I liked. But lately things have gotten kinda blah, even my used to be favorite creators go to the lets make the same damn texture pack for this new dress thing.
I am a tad bit picky these days for example with skirts, if they completely distort the textures applied when morphing and bending them just the slightest bit I will return them. There are only about 3 creators worth buying from regularly for me these days and the occasional awesome find by someone i did not previously know.
But I agree i got more then enough "woman of loose character" styled clothing then I will ever need and enough fantasy wear to dress every single fantasy character i can ever think of. I got enough similar hairs and texture packs to last me forever, so from now on I only buy things that are unique that I have not seen before in some form.
And then sometimes I open the marketplace/Daz and see texture packs that make me wonder who the hell approved them because I would not even consider using them... if payed handsomly. They look like a texturing attempt by my 7 year old ( yep she on occasion makes textures for her plushie creations and they tend to look better then that). The first thing I always think when seeing such packs is something along the lines of, geeze who photographed scrapbooking paper and made textures out of them, they look... cheap doesn't even describe it yet.
As for Daz and its pricing, well they gotta live from something and I do believe it takes a horrendous amount of work to make a completely new generation of figures.
Some of us like them some don't ( I personally use M3 as much as M4 and V3 isnt gathering dust yet either.) I do prefer the new way of making everything morph expansions because I do like mix and match and dressing diffrent characters in clothing I buy for one basemodel instead of I don't know how many.
In the end we all decide what we want to use and how we use it and the whole fight about what is the better figure and what not is kinda pointless to me as I got some I use more and some I use less but I wont be complaining about that, but quality and good results in renders and or animations is what I really go for and lately I have been quite disappointed.
