there is a new item in the store, some short jeans. on the first look its great and I bought it.thought it would work like anton kiesiels stockings at daz, where you can apply different textures to different bodyparts. What you get is a viccytexture(dont know who made it) with a painted jeans. It is not looking bad ,but one can only use it with this one texture.and if you want a different headtexture, you have different colors for head and body. decide ,if you want such.if i had know before , i didnt spend money on this :-((

Use Anton's pose files as an example and make your own with the Jeans texture.

maybe i will do it on the weekend

thgeisel ( ) posted Tue, 10 July 2001 at 12:18 PM

well, i gave the subdividing mats a try but it doesnt work. reason: the textures cant change in one bodypart.only at the borders.I can add the jeanstexture at the thigh and another texture at the rest of the leg.but I cant have the jeanstexture on the upper third of the thigh and another texture on the lower 2/3 of the thigh.I get the skin texture thats with the jeanstexture there. Ok, I accept Ive lost 8 $ :-((

Did you consider working with the texture map in Photoshop?

thgeisel ( ) posted Tue, 10 July 2001 at 1:05 PM

of course i could do so.could copy it , size it, add it to different textures...But if thats the way i want to do it, I can get textures in free stuff or by scanning or elsewhere. one year ago, better items were given away for free and not for money.

You may wish to contact the vendor directly on this. The creator of the item will most likely have the best tips for working with it. At any rate they should atleast be aware of any feedback you have on their product. From my point of view the product description in the MarketPlace accurately describes what the product is. However, if you feel it is misleading, you may wish to e-mail store@renderosity.com with your concerns.

thgeisel ( ) posted Tue, 10 July 2001 at 2:49 PM

Well, maybe you are right, maybe I missunderstood.I dont complain about an item not working as I expected.I wanted to tell other people: look what you get and if its usefull to you!!

I appreciate hearing things like this, even though I agree that the product was described fairly well (although "conforming" might not have been the best choice of words in the description). Thank you Pervers for letting us know of your experience with this product. It would seem that posts like this are still the most effective way of both promoting and warning potential buyers of commercial items. Just my opinion as always. Take care! MikeJ ( ) posted Tue, 10 July 2001 at 5:31 PM

hey Mesh, Calm down, OK? You're shouting in a thread that might not be seen again by anyone who has the ability to change store policy. In the menu, under Admin Forums, there is a forum called Community Ideas, and THAT is where you need to suggest such changes. Also, there is the (new) Feedback feature under the header, Renderosity, also in the side-bar menu. Please try those before you get all upset. :)

Good idea though, I agree.
