I found Poser 7 runs quite well on a Pentium M 1.6 Ghz laptop with 1 GB ram , which is equivalent to a P4 2.4 GHz.  I had purchased this laptop second-hand for $180.  Used desktops are even less-you can probably find something.suitable for around $100.  Latest-and-greatest is nice, but you can get by with less, as you guys well know.
