Well, I am on a Mac system. I got a crappy laptop from DELL (HELL!) hoping I could run the DAZ texture converters on it but after 3 weeks of trying to hook it up to my internal network with the pathetic tech support from overseas i gave up and put the piece of crap in the close with all my unuseables. So no I don't think I am going to a Windows based system. Used them for too many years when I first got into digital and once I went to Mac I never wanted to go back despite having been forced to work with them from time to time at work (Service Bureau/Print Shop).
I used morph injections with V3 when I first got her before the demise of my newer computer. I have to say I really didn't like the injections method of expanding the figure's capabilities. They need to be residing on same hard drive and in the same or accompanying runtime folder taking up a lot of hard drive realestate where as all my obj morphs are on a different hard drive in folders set up by body part and character making them so much easier to manage. For that reason, I still prefer obj injections (not sure what PMD morphs though).
Joelglaine: I know a lot of people in our same boat. Seems Poser is a magnet for the broken hearts and broken lives subculture around the globe. Wonder why!? :)
I gotta admit it is engrossing and therefore therapeutic to sit at your computer for hours or days at a time trying to sublimate your sad or painful existence through a render. of course there are also those who use the technology everyday professionally and migrate those skills to create content for the rest of us. To them thanks...I would not be able to sublimate my painful existence if not for you all! LOL
ODF: I have been reading the WHOLE thread and do understand that you are trying to flesh the important stuff out for the figure. I would not dream of asking for stuff for it while that process was going on. I just learned that sometimes a little squeaky wheel gets some grease so it never hurts to ask or bring a concern to the forefront. One h=never knows! :)
I know a lot of people who despite having P5 and above still render in the P4 engine. Can't figure that out but if I understand it there are complex functions in P5 and above that are a bit mind boggling and I can see where many like myself, (self defined as Techno Phobe) would go back to safety and comfort of familiar functions. Hell, after all the years using P4 I still can not for the life of me figure out how to create magnets and morphs for my stuff and have to beg others with sharper minds to do it for me. Humiliating! :(
