Well as artists we must be able to try new approaches in art. If there’s a genre that attracts you as an artist then it’s totally OK to fulfill your interests. Certain software packages allow you to express your art. But looking at these packages we often wonder why it is that certain artists use a particular piece of software. My personal determination is that people become used to using certain software and they feel comfortable with it. Given this I must assume that  different software packages have a certain attraction and often it’s ease of use is what attracts people.

Quote: “Now, with the different levels of bundled packages any user – from production house to personal designer – can have access to the most sophisticated virtual plant-enhanced ecosystem creation and visualization tool on the market today”

Now isn’t that a self serving statement? This is a mile leap comment to assume that this combination is the “most sophisticated virtual plant-enhanced ecosystem”.

As if Terragen or XFrog are the most user friendly programs on the market. Believe me, they’re not. I just spoke to someone this weekend about Terragen and they told me they couldn’t catch on to its user interface. Terragen is semi-user friendly from my perspective. It takes some getting use to.

XFrog on the other hand definitely needs lots of “social cognizant and ergonomics 101 ” training. I’m sure that XFrog is offering the “plant enhancement” part of the duet. But XFrog ordinarily are too many dials whose use are not outright intuitively apparent.  Unless they have come to a totally different user interface I cannot see this combo as a viable means for introductory 3D artists.
