something must be really strange..i saved that first scene..started another and watched as each object populated the scene. Very small indeed. I'm in the middle of a render right now, so as soon as that is done, I'll dig into the particulars. Thanks

You most likely have some kind of ecosystem in some of those objects. It's impossible to have that many polygons in a scene if they're non-instanced. Maybe you loaded some stock material that contains an ecosystem? Maybe the terrains? I'd suggest that you check your materials one by one. One thing is for sure: it's not the primitives.

I was just trying to use primitives in V6...but the polygon size of these objects is horrendous...
2 BILLION polygons only using 13 primitives.
Is there a way to reduce them?
