As long as you install the Mac OS X version of Poser, it's completely compatible!

Seriously, I use Poser 7 and Poser Pro on a two-year-old first generation iMac 2GHz Core Duo with 2GB RAM and an ATI 1600X graphics card. Not at all top end by today's standards.

You should have no problems at all with the MacBook Pro. The limitations on Poser usage with a laptop computer are mainly with graphics, memory size, and hard disk space. But with that specification you should have have no difficulties.
