If you indeed purchase a MAC, the very first thing to do is to reset your monitor gamma to 2.2 to keep in compliance with the rest of the real world. MAC still boasts a 'native' gamma = 1.8 which delivers a brighter screen but, given digital cameras, printers and web standards, will results in darker prints and image uploads if not properly adjusted.
