stephan..No need to set up the runtime folder..because the readmes, runtime + runtime subfolders are **created during installation if they aren't there already....ie create a folder..name it say Clothes V4..then install to that folder.

** Using an external drive is a personal choice.  I moved my runtime off my main pc because it got too big. Because I use my ext. drive to back up other (non Poser) stuff  I keep everything in a main folder called AllRuns and inside use various categories..ie
!Animals
!Poses
!Characters V4 A4
!Clothes V4 A4 etc**

I  use ! at the beginning to avoid confusion with default DS and Poser folders. If you were creating more than one ext. runtime it's prob. better to start with a number + name.
