Subject: *SweetDreams*

fruitwort ( ) posted Sun, 24 May 2009 at 6:48 AM · edited Thu, 12 December 2024 at 6:49 PM

I've just purchased and downloaded SweetDreams and attempted to find it (a nightmare!) in the DAZStudio Contents tab.

Needless to say, I can find the Textures, Materials or whatever DAZ decides to call it, but cannot find the part to attach them to. It seems that this product needs another called Bed Time. Fine, but when I find this product in your catalogue, it tells me that it is no longer available!!!

Thanks very much all! OK I've only wasted $5 but that is not the point. Why was I allowed to buy an addon to a product which doesn't now exist?

Hello,

You will need to contact the vendor directly for product support.
To contact the vendor please click the "contact" link next to the vendor's
name on the product page, or use the site mail system.
Site mail requires only the vendor's username.

Please allow 3 full business days for a response.
If you have not heard from the vendor in that time frame, please let us know
so we can contact them on your behalf.

Thank you,

Kristi

Kristi, thank you for your prompt response. I have contacted the vendor as you suggested and await their hopefully positive response,

Whilst I have your attention, I am not doing too well out of my latest purchases. The 50s Ponytail is refusing to allow me to access materials and textures, meaning only the base is available to me.

I am using DAZStudio which apparently and after some extensive research, cannot read .png, .mt5 or even .jpg files. So this download is for Poser only?

Or can these files be converted?

I'm afraid I am a complete newbie and a bit alarmed that I may be walking into a minefield by buying other than from DAZ Studio.

Regards,

fruitwort

Hello,

The information on the product page and or read me file will tell you what programs you need for the product.

If you are ever uncertain about a product, you can contact the vendor directly before you purchase the product so you know if you can use it for sure or not.

Thank you,

DAZ Studio can read PNG and JPG files but not Material files (MC6 etc)

In order for DAZ Studio to see MAT files, they need to be either .DS or .PZ2 files

If you are in doubt about something click the readme on the product that is located on the product page :-) That will tell you before you buy if there are files that DAZ Studio will see

Thanks for your help, everybody. Checking before buying seems to be the answer,

BTW I have tried to contact the authors of 50s Ponytail but the message won't go through. Their actual site isn't very user friendly either!

KristiS ( ) posted Sun, 14 June 2009 at 12:15 PM

Did you try contacting them through Renderosity site mail?

That is probably the best way to reach them?

Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Yes, I did - twice but the messages just vanished!

KristiS ( ) posted Sun, 14 June 2009 at 8:31 PM

I will send them a site mail and try to contact them on your behalf.

Thanks!

Hi Kristi, I take it that you haven't had any luck either.

Another supplier who is completely ignoring me is TrekkieGrrrl.

Whatever happened to good manners?

kayjay97 ( ) posted Mon, 06 July 2009 at 11:30 AM

Bed Time is now at DAZ that is why it is no longer here

TrekkieGrrrl is usually very responsive. Maybe she is on holiday or something?

No, I have not heard anything...are you going to buy the required product that is at Daz?

As far as the other vendor goes, I will send them a site mail and see if I can get a response from them.

Thank you and have a good day!

Sorry, I've got my knickers in a twist here. I am confusing these two items.

The Sweet Dreams people did reply and directed me to DAZ Studio. I have bought the required item from there.

I have had no reply from MayaX regarding the 50s Pony Tail. TrekkieGrrl still hasn't responded but maybe she is still on holiday.

Ok, thanks...I will try to contact the vendors you have not heard from to see if I can get them to contact you.

Thanks again,

If anybody is interested, I have found a way to convert mc6 and mt5 files to pz2.

It is so simple that even I can do it and I can now see, and add, all of the 50s Ponytail colours.
